Chapter 10

Cloud nine might be the best way to describe how I walked up the beach after leaving Jul’s. In fact, I’m not even sure I was walking. I might have been floating on air. It was practically every fantasy I ever had all coming true. When it happens to you, you can’t believe it. So, I decided to join the fantasy and see where it lead.

Shuffling along the water’s edge, I could see into the house separating Jul’s and ours. Being night, and with their interior lights blazing, it was easy to see inside. Someone stood at their window with a telescope aimed at the ocean. Seemed a little odd, since it was dark out. Not sure what this person was watching.

It sparked thoughts of this ‘sex club’ Alix mentioned. Seemed it was coming true. Maybe this voyeur was exactly that, a watcher getting his kicks from a distance. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I wonder if everyone was in on it. What about beyond Malibu? Maybe the whole biz is like this. Heck, I’d only been back for a few days. Who knows what might happen?

In any case, right now, it seemed like I had a situation on my hands. I’ve got three of the hottest women in the world waiting for me to return for a private party. Victoria was about to jump my bones in the pool. Of which I would happily accept. But she needs a special hand. Alix, well, that was more than anything I’d ever fantasized. She was the definition of a free spirit and set my mind free. And there’s Jul. I hadn’t figured her out yet. But something was perking up. That wet spot outside the bathroom. It had to have been her.

I needed a game plan.

Because one way or another, I couldn’t go back as some school kid living out old wet dreams. I had to raise my game and take charge.

I knew my dad had great taste, so I raided his closet. I wanted to look like a man in charge when I went back. Looking the part was a big part of the game. Sure enough, dad’s stuff was the best. I took my time picking out something casual and in good taste. I wanted something to draw them closer and make them wonder. Substance over flash.

I made sure my hair was perfect. A shot of cologne, another right at my waistline. A surprise for… whomever. Then I got a bigger thought.

Dinner and wine. I’m going to cook. That had never failed me before. In my short time in the romance game, I’d never been much of a ladies’ man. I was always so caught up in my work. But I took a few notes from my favorite films. The kind when the lead character knows how to romance and seduce his lover. I learned a lot from those films, not just finding starlets to fantasize about. And I’d turned some of those tricks into interesting evenings before.
